Glam Damn It
Yes, you saw that right. Fast. Food. Fashion.
Designer Jeremy Scott debuted the Moschino fall/winter 14 collection this weekend in Milan and it's already available on the website. I guess Scott knew we were just really hungry for it! (ha,right?)
McDonald's, Budweiser and Spongebob Squarepants were just a trio of brands given the post-modern pop fashion treatment by Jeremy Scott in his first collection for Moschino.
Despite the slight drama llama surrounding Scott's friend and guest, Katy Perry (the pop phenom was booed while on the runway) this show was one for the books!
Burberry Prorsum awakened its inner hippie with a nod to bohemian chic. Aptly titled The Bloomsbury Girls, the collection was fashioned as a love letter to the brilliant minds of London’s past. Designer Christopher Bailey immersed each piece in heart and soul.
“Basically, walls, furniture, fabric, anything that moved, they painted it!” he said.
Following suit, trench coats and handbags were hand painted like canvas. Scrolls of flowers cascaded down the flanks of countless layers that would put Jason and his Technicolor Dream Coat to shame. No two pieces were alike.
This year, Sports Illustrated celebrates the 50th anniversary of their annual swim suit issue, and for the occasion the “cheeky” cover gives us not one, not two, but three bombshells-- Chrissy Teigen, Nina Agdal and Lily Aldridge. Also featured in this issue of SI is 21 year old phenom, Kate Upton, who gracefully models Kate Swim pieces for the fourth consecutive year.
Kate Swim has high end swimsuits with unique fabric and creative designs, designed by independent designer Kathleen Bruening. She began her design journey in 2007 with a goal in mind: to create innovate styles and body enhancing shapes for every body type. For the last four years you can catch her amazing designs in the SI swim suit issues. Back in 2012, when model Kate Upton landed the cover, Upton was wearing Kate Swim. With another successful year for Ms. Bruening, her 2014 swimsuits collection is colorful and sexy and can be found again on this year’s SI issue being worn by Upton. Here are some of our favorite pieces from the collection.
Don't be completley Clueless and get ahead of the trend.
Remember when Jill Stuart had this iconic outfit in that 90's movie "Clueless"?
Most of us are old enough to remember when everyone else got their Delias catalogue. Ours was totally late every time, but when it arrived we fawned over faux designer handbags (for our smackers lip balm) and tiny J Crew replica preppy plaid sets. Most of our plaid miniskirts never passed the fingertip test and we still believed in this notion that technology was going to create Cher's closet for us when we were older...
Zendaya Coleman is proving to be the future of music and fashion, with a beauty and talent so mesmerizing, she's often compared to the likes of Beyonce and Rihanna. The quadruple-threat, singer, dancer, actress, and model was the toast of New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2014, keeping the cameras flashing and all eyes on what the former disney starlet would wear next. Here on Glam Damnit, we've got some of Zendaya's best looks of the year so far.
With a beauty like Zendaya, she could wear anything, but this style star goes above and beyond, making fun and inspiring decisions with print, patterns, and accessories, as well as developing a sophisticated taste for fashion, going from classy casual and sexy elegant to youthful urban, and avant-garde chic.
Happy Birthday, you fabulous, fashionable, and undeniably sexy woman! Thank you for inviting us into your amazing birthday via instagram -- we are totally jealous that we couldn't be there with you! Like, oh my god, it looks amazing.
You've had quite a year and we are so proud of how strong you are. You started off at 25 with then boyfriend, Chris Brown, which you got over (just like all of us) with tweets and instagram posts. You are now flirting up a storm with Drake, and we totally love it. We are so proud! You go girl!
As New yorkers brave the cold and eagerly await a blissfull spring, a slew of your favorite stars gathered across the pond for the 2014 Brit Awards, which took place in London on Feburay 19th, and Glam Damnit is bringing you the bes dressed of the evening including Beyonce, Kylie Minogue, One Direction, and Katy Perry.
What a coincidence it is that two of our absolutely favorite times of the year are so close together: New York Fashion Week and St. Patrick’s Day ! It may not seem to you that the two go hand and hand, but you would be surprised. How so? Well, although green was not the "IT" color of Fashion Week, we identified the most fashionable shade of green with Pantone as Cypress green. This gorgeous ethereal color appeared on over half of our runway shows and is going to be popping up in our fave stores all over the place. We love this color; it looks so sophisticated and elegant. Cypress the most trend setting gorgeous way to sweeten up your wardrobe and get ready to show off your Irish pride (real or fake!).
Pedicure.com is the best site for finding new nail art trends and inspiration, but they also throw amazing events! They hosted the ultimate girl’s night out at the Flatiron District’s Serenity Spa this past Tuesday, where more than 50 ladies from Urban Girl Squad (with a few fashion bloggers and media elite thrown into the mix) were primped and pampered while they socialized and relaxed. For $30, guests were treated to a 10-minute massage and full manicure. In between spa treatments attendees enjoyed bubbling glasses of exclusive Italian-brand Altaneve Prosecco and yummy appetizers from NYC’s hottest Mediterranean lounge, Pergola.
