Shake Shack To Open Biggest Location Ever

Fans of Shake Shack in the Miami area are in for a really BIG treat. On Sunday at 11am, the world’s largest Shake Shack will open in Coral Gables.

Perfectly situated on Dixie Highway across from the University of Miami, the location will undoubtedly attract herds of college students in addition to local burger fans. One that sounds extra delicious is the Cookie Cabana, a frozen treat consisting of vanilla custard and Cuban-style sugar cookies.

Hey New Yorkers, You Can Now Rent a Backyard By the Hour

For those who live in an apartment that lacks a spacious terrace or rooftop to enjoy the summer air; or if you’re simply craving the suburbs, there is a solution to your frustration. For its second year in a row, Timeshare Backyard, a lush, grass-covered, mock backyard at 145 Ludlow Street is providing the opportunity to rent their space by the hour.

By paying $100 per hour on the weekend, you are entitled to “bbq grill, luxury grass, shady spots, trashy mags, hammocks, picnicking, squirt guns, lounge chairs, coolers, hula hoops, and street art.” Sounds bizarre, but really cool at the same time. Prices appear to differ on the weekdays.

THE BAND AID
4Knots Music Festival Takes Over The Seaport

The Village Voice, infamously known for orchestrating a music festival for New Yorkers each year, is delivering once again. On Saturday, July 14th, 4Knots Music Festival kicks off for a second year at South Street Seaport piers 16 and 17.

The event ends at 8pm, but that doesn’t mean the festivities will stop completely. Tickets to the afterparty are available here, a bash which DJ Jonathan Toubin is set to host. Special performances will include DJ April March and go go dancer Ana Copa Cabanna. Did we mention there will be a limbo contest? Sold.

PS, In case you were curious, or perhaps a trivia junkie, the name “4Knots” comes from "the speed of the water as it moves through New York's East River at the South Street Seaport".

NIGHT STALKER
Drink on a Stoop, Get the Boot (and a Summons)

Outdoor drinking is a common practice in the summer. The only teeny problem with this trend is the obscurity of the law surrounding it. On July 4th, Andrew Rausa and his friends discovered this the hard way.

While enjoying their outdoor evening with casual beers on a brownstone stoop, the group was approached by two police officers who informed them that they were breaking the law.

The small group was situated behind the gate of the brownstone, causing Rausa, a law student, uneasiness over the proposed violation. Acting quickly, he used his iPhone to retrieve the New York administrative code, which defines a public place as one “to which the public or a substantial group of persons has access, including, but not limited to,” a park, sidewalk or beach. After showing this to the police officer on the spot, Rausa reported to The New York Times that the officer’s reply was simply “I don’t care what the law says, you’re getting a summons.”

V.I.P: VERY IMPORTANT PARTY
Talent Resources & Nic Roldan Host The 3rd Annual Charity Polo Classic

For those who had the chance this past weekend to attend Talent Resources' Third Annual Charity Polo Classic, they were in for a real treat. Held at a private estate in Watermill, NY, the event benefited Rally for Kids with Cancer, a foundation that raises funds toward finding a cure.

Mike Heller and the Talent Resources team were pleased to have American polo star Nic Roldan as the event’s host, as he flew in precisely for the benefit. The event’s famous host isn’t the only attendee to brag about: the crowd of over 250 guests included Hampton’s socialites and a slew of celebrities. Current and past cast-mates from The Real Housewives of New York including Ramona and Mario Singer, Kelly Bensimon, and LuAnn de Lesseps with boyfriend Jacques Azoulay were in attendance. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Dina Manzo was also present. Also coming out to support the event was Bravo's Gold Coast Girls star Chanel Omari, celebrity style expert Lindsi Lane and plus sized model Andrea Horblitt.

Ditch the Theater: NYC's Outdoor Movie Screenings

As most of you can already tell, we’re pretty big fans of rooftops in the summertime. What’s not to like about them? They provide breathtaking views of the city and give you a hiatus from the chaos below. We’ve seen rooftop bars, pools, and now there’s another activity to add to the fun up above: movie screenings.

From the rooftop of a market to a high school, the range of selected venues will keep it interesting. The movies shown in this series are not typical either. Their genres widely vary, thus encouraging diverse audiences each time. If this sounds like your cup of tea, check out the schedule here.

Mondrian SoHo's "Soaked" Open For Business

In the summertime we just can’t get enough of rooftop lounges! Good news, there’s a new one to add to the lineup: Soaked at Mondrian SoHo.

Unlike other rooftops that have a city-chic atmosphere (which we love), this unique hotspot has a serene country feel (which we also love). Covered with lively green turf, plants, and décor, it has a very refreshing ambiance.

The menu could not be more suited for the setting. To complement the summer vibe, Soaked offers fruit infused liquor and liquor infused fruit. We love it! Nothing says it’s summer like tropical fruit and a cold beverage, especially when they’re combined!
