May 2009 Russian Vogue

The current issue of Russian Vogue depicts somewhat of an artists studio complete with splattered paint, brushes, canvases, body forms and high end fashion. The May 2009 issue features model Magdalena Frackowiak with highlights from Pernilla and Cameron. Photography by the highly acclaimed Tom Munro catches the eye in the fashion story Масс-Культ (Mass Cult). Enjoy!

Daily Eats: Salt

With its modern yet casual interior, Salt is more reminiscent of the simple, clean little places nestled in side streets of the sleepy west coast beach towns of Santa Cruz or Carmel than of the chic and bustling streets of Manhattan. Flooded with natural sunlight by day and illuminated by the soft glow of candlelight by night, patrons are instantly put at ease, whether they nestle themselves among the plush pillows lining the windows or take a seat at the bar facing the warm, exposed brick. But there it is, and it’s not to be underestimated by its relaxed ambience.

Trend List: Alexander McQueen

Alexander McQueen has done it again. Available in New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas boutiques is his $895 Faithful clutch. While the price may seem steep, it’s a small price to pay to never lose your gorgeous little clutch again. Not to mention your cell, keys and the rest of your life all “safely” tucked away while your dancing on a table or gulping back drinks on that first date. McQueen geniously enables you to keep your goods close to your hand with a touch of Karl-esque fingerless motorcycle glove fierceness.

Spring Shopping Guide: Editor's Pick

With Steve Madden’s Persona sandal, the shoe becomes the main attraction. Beaded details are its focus in a mixture of warm oranges, aqua, green, yellow, black and gold. With braided detail at the toe and a tie back enclosure for personalized size, these “native” inspired slip-ons are also available in an all gold or silver beaded colorway for the less adventurous. Pair with rolled boyfriend jeans and a tank or a simple sundress – perfect for strolling the streets with a lil frozen yogurt cup.

Speidi Ties The Knot...

So Heidi and Spencer officially tied the know this past Saturday in Pasadena, Ca. Yep that’s right. While they might seem to be semi ‘estranged’ in current Hills episodes, I think we all knew that the reality couple would unhappily stay together forever. But didn’t we already hear about a pending breakup in which a certain magazine would cover for an obtrusive amount of money?

No shocker here- although the guestlist was. While not surprised that The Hills crew was filing complete footage, the fact that the rest of the gang was there in support of the union was. Sisters to the couple Holly Montag and Stephanie Pratt were obvious namestays, with Brody Jenner and Frankie Delgado at close seconds. Audrina Patridge, Justin Bossy and Lo Bosworth were also in attendance with Lauren Conrad assumingly having a change of heart about attending the nuptuals, although she did seem to make a feeing getaway before the crowd left the church.

A Socialite Reality Series in the Works?

Tinsley Mortimer was spotted with a ‘five-person camera crew in tow’ at Douglas Freidman’s “Lady” exhibit at the Ruffian showroom. She denies the filming has anything to do with a possible reality series but rather was to air on a Japanese TV show (as she’s big in Japan where her handbag line sells like hot cakes). Yet, a member of the socialite’s ‘entourage’ offered up that the footage would indeed be used for a reality pilot to be shopped around American networks. Hhhhmmmm. A socialite reality show may be highly entertaining- at least to Manhattnites I’m sure.

We will keep you updated on the pending issue, but in the meantime you can catch Tinsley as a guest judge on Bravo’s Project Runway replacement The Fashion Show to air later in the year.
