Editor's Letter: Bidding You Farewell
And reflecting on the past year in nightlife.

There is a quiet in our office today I haven't experienced in some time.  New Year's Eve and the holiday event season is over and there are only boxes to remind us of last weekend.  The events staff did an excellent job producing over 50 parties in New York and Miami for over 30,000 people.  It almost seems anti-climactic.  I had gotten used to the hustle and bustle from the past few months.

It seems good a time as any to reflect on the past year and where we have been and how far we have come. I have had the opportunity to reach out to many of you, see what you were looking for in a site geared toward nightlife and try to bring some of the most interesting people and places to our home page so you feel part of the scene.  Last February, we kicked off 2010 with a picture perfect event at Capitale for New York Fashion Week.  Over the summer we accomplished the monumental task of relaunching the Joonbug website.  After months of preparing content and watching our tech team build the new design, we merged our talents and gave you a sophisticated and professional site which I am very proud of today.  We have had a memorable year in Miami as well.  Joonbug opened its first office in South Beach to deliver our promise of high-class and upscale events and giving you the insider's view on what's hot at the beach.

My friends and colleagues in the industry say I have one of the greatest jobs in the world.  I pridefully agree with them every time I listen to their subtle jealousy.  I have loved coming to work everyday, something not many people can say.  I have taken trips to places I'd never been before, met some of the world's most interesting people, and at the end of the day, was able to write about all the fun I had.  I have been fortunate enough to work closely with Jon Gabel, Joonbug's owner, in crafting a message that would be fun, interesting, hip and trendy so you all keep coming back for more.  For Jon and the staff of Joonbug, I am eternally grateful and appreciative.

But as with all good things in life, this adventure is coming to an end for me.  Friday will be my last day as Editor-In-Chief and this will be my final letter to all of you.  I can not express my admiration for the dedicated writers who keep us current everyday and for each of you for coming back again and again to see what's going on in the nightlife world.  I sincerely thank you for the opportunity to be your editor and I look forward to seeing what Joonbug has in store in the future.

With Gratitude,

Chet Jordan
