September is Slammin' at 116
Underground bar at 116 MacDougal restores downtown artists’ scene with fresh events.

September may mean that it's time to go out with that extra sweater in tow, but there's no need to carry a frown when you're headed to 116 MacDougal. With their September line-up of events, there's something for everyone to look forward to.Even better, there is no cover for their weekly events.

Mondays: Hit up Gaslight Refueled (8pm) for live stand-up comedy with funny peeps from Comedy Central, Last Comic Standing, NBC, and more, with host Vicky Kuperman.

Tuesdays: Hit up Open Mic (6pm) where the legendary Gaslight stage plays host to singers, poets, comics, and storytellers with host Manoo Halati.

Wednesdays: Hit up The Gaslight Salon Series (7pm) transforms 116 into a spoken-word salon, featuring poetry, storytelling, comedy and cabaret.

Weekend Nights: Hit up 116 late night (10pm) for awesome DJs. Thursday Night Soulshake hosts DJ Baron, Fridays host DJ Drastic for funk and soul, and Saturdays host DJ Stacey Stylez for some dance classics.

September 13th & 20th: Check out Radio Amateur Open Stage (10pm) for a tribute to non-traditional artists and performers, providing 8 minutes of no-strings attached stage time for anyone willing to perform.

September 22nd: Check out Free Healthcare (7pm), a comedy show with a misleading title. Ryan Conner of SNL and Sean Gabbert of XM Radio will be hosting this event.

September 27th: Check out The Gaslight Revival (8pm), which is a bimonthly bluegrass and folk jam, hosted by Sheriff Bob (played at original Gaslight Cafe 40 years ago!).

Don't miss these great events, as well as their daily 2-for-1 happy hour every day until 9pm. 116 is open every day from 4pm-4am.
