Matsuri & Hiro Ballroom Closing Shop in March
Say goodbye to two classics

Word has it that two meatpacking classics will be closing up shop come March. The Maritime Hotel's Hiro Ballroom and Matsuri restaurant, owned by Sean MacPherson and Eric Goode, will close after 8 years, marking the end of a classic era. Both venues have hosted some of the greatest NYC parties over the past few years, and are known for making the meatpacking district cool, when it was mostly a seedy, unkept area.

Marc Packer of Lavo and Tao, is officially taking over the space to transform it into what we're sure, (due to his track record), will be the next big thing. But have no fear, The Maritime Hotel is still intact and will not be going anywhere. And if Lavo and Tao are any indication, it will be getting a pretty sweet upgrade.  Which is never a bad thing!
