The Secret Garden Debuts in Queens
Relive the magic childhood classic for its first showing since its Broadway debut

Relive your childhood fantasies with a performance of classic The Secret Garden. For a limited time only, from May 5th- 19th, the Astoria Performing Arts Center will fascinate audiences with the tale of Mary and her secret, magical garden.

Taking place in 1906 at a lonely manor, Archibald Craven is saddened by the loss of his wife and his crippled son. All this changes when he must take in young Mary, whose parents passed away. The union will change their lives forever.

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Marsha Norman and composer Lucy Simon had a successful stint on Broadway with this show, adapted from Frances Hodgson Burnett's novel. The play appeals to child and adults alike, or anyone who believes in a little bit of magic! The original Broadway show won the 1991 Tony Awards for Best Book of a Musical, Best Featured Actress in a Musical, and Best Scenic Design. This is the first time being shown in NYC since its run on Broadway. Tickets are $18 and available here.

THE SECRET GARDEN plays the following regular schedule through Saturday, May 19:

Thursdays at 8 p.m.
Fridays at 8 p.m.
Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Running Time: 135 minutes
