Inside the Real Housewives of New York Premiere Party
RHONY: They're Back and They've Got New Booty

Monday night brought the premiere of season 5 of The Real Housewives of New York City and it was out with the old and in with the new. Aviva Drescher, one of the three newbies on the show, hosted a viewing party for the premiere at Frames NYC to benefit One Step Ahead, a foundation that helps those with disabilities. Also at the premiere party were fellow Housewives Carole Radziwill and Heather Thomson. Former Housewife Jill Zarin also made an appearance with her hubby.

Aviva is not your typical Upper East Sider. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Vassar and a Masters in French from NYU and earned a JD from The Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. But the truly astonishing thing about this woman is that she is an amputee. When she was six she was in a tragic farm accident which resulted in the amputation of her left leg. As the National Spokesperson for One Step Ahead, she continuously advocates for others and has never let her disability become disabling. How exactly did this wonder woman get involved in this show? "I got involved in the show because a publicist, Jake Spitz, brought Bravo over to interview me, and I was like, 'absolutely not, no way am I doing this show,' and ultimately, after a month of not eating and not sleeping, I decided to do the show because I thought it would be a great platform to raise awareness for amputees because I'm an amputee myself," says Aviva. "[The show] hasn't really changed my life except for the work load. Before I had the show I had my four children and I had my charity. Now with the show, it's a bit more a juggle, which has changed my life and my time management." Although she claims she may now have more haters. (We're rooting for you, Aviva!)

Fellow new castmate Heather Thompson is the creator of Yummie by Heather Thomson, a popular shapewear line. She has spent the past fifteen years as a very successful designer and stylist and has worked with many a celebrity. Carole Radziwill, the third of the new cast members, is a best-selling author and award-winning journalist. Her book, What Remains: A Memoir of Fate, Friendship and Love, is about her husbands heartbreaking battle with cancer and her next book, The Widow's Guide to Sex & Dating, is due out this summer.

Tune in next Monday at 9pm on Bravo to catch the next episode!
