Next Thursday, September 27th Green Light Sustainability Advisors will present the First Annual Harbor Oyster Cruise as part of New York Oyster Week (http://www.OysterWeek.com).
The VIP Harbor Oyster Cruise (http://www.harboroystercruises.eventbrite.com) will be designed and presented around the history and significance of the oyster in New York Harbor taking oyster lovers on a trip through past, present and future with stops to Little Oyster Island, Big Oyster Island and working development, "Amphibious Park" which will create a massive oyster reef complex in the harbor all brought to life by bona-fide Ostreaphile (Oyster Expert), Kevin Joseph.
Taking off from Chelsea Piers, Pier 62, Oyster lovers can choose from two cruise options. Sail the harbor during sunset from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. or choose to take in the twinkling stars while noshing on your oysters from 8:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Guests will get to feast on a wide-variety of American and Canadian oysters served raw, on the half shell including Blue Island, Montauk Pearls, Widows Hole, Beau Soleil, Chef's Creek and Mermaid Cove all washed down with ZYR Vodka Oystertinis, flipflop bubbly wines and specialty beers such as Blue Point Toasted Lager.
Turning the star power up an extra notch, Chef Rob McCue, Celebrity Chef from Gordon Ramsey’s Hells Kitchen and now of The BRAVO Network’s Show, Chef Roble & Co., will perform and share with all guests his Spherification technique - a form of "molecular gastronomy" that creates tiny balls of flavor similar in size, shape or color to pearls or fish eggs using delectable spirits such as ZYR Vodka,flipflop bubbly wines and Cherry Heering as pearl garnishes for the yummy raw oysters served up to all cruise guests.
