Photographer Matthew Rolston will be debuting his new book, Talking Heads: The Vent Haven Portraits at Art Basel Miami. The launch party is sponsored by Hendrick's Gin at Fontainebleau on Friday December 7th from 7-9 pm.
The event will feature large-scale prints from the book and there will also be books available for purchase and Rolston will be on hand to sign copies. Hendrick's Gin will be serving cocktails inspired by the images along with tasty hors d'oeuvres.
Matthew Rolston's book has been in the works for the past three years and is the artist's first foray into the world of fine arts. His photographs are inspired by the obscure Vent Haven Museum located in Fort Mitchell, KY, which is the world's only museum dedicated to ventriloquism. Rolston was able to photograph these historic figures in a series of 100 portraits and they are now being showcased in his new book.
If you are looking for something kitschy verses snooty at Art Basel, this is the exhibit to hit.
