The second weekend of 2013 is looking pretty legit. NYC's fave downtown spot, Santos Party House, is hosting Audien's 21st birthday bash this Saturday January 12th along with special guest DJ, Pierce Fulton for it's weekly party, Electric Beach!
At just 20-years-old, Pierce Fulton has made serious moves the past two years and has transitioned with ease as a rising star in American Dance music. Rather than following the fashion of the times, Pierce has opted for making music that is to his liking, which have all proved to be innovative.
We saw this shine through his Pardon My French EP for Cr2 Records and in follow-up anthem "Who Wants Spaghetti?" Pierce meshes the realms of electro house and down-tempo electronica nicely and has proven his abilities as a producer with successful remixes for Usher, Chuckie and Steve Aoki. His music has earned the support of Tiësto, Above and Beyond, and Paul Oakenfold to name a few.
In 2012 alone he has rocked stages at festivals including Electric Zoo, VELD Music Festival, and Ultra Music Festival and rallied packed-out crowds at Las Vegas super clubs XS and Surrender. The young buck has rallied further attention with his monthly ‘Get Weird’ radio show on Tiësto’s SiriusXM channel, Club Life Radio. Lisnte to his track "Sink Or Swim" featuring Bebe Rexha below.
Nate Rathbun, better known as Audien, began creating music in 2008. Starting out using a very basic set up, and a secret cocktail of plug-ins, the young producer worked diligently to hone his craft. By age 17, he began to test the waters by sending his unsolicited music out to producers, labels and bloggers. Without any high expectations, an enthusiastic response ultimately came. It was from Flashover Recordings, the trance label owned by Dutch Producer/DJ Ferry Corsten. Audien’s single “Rise & Shine” was released, and soon thereafter he was off to the races.
Over the next two years a swing of renowned labels came calling as they gravitated to Audien’s stunning melodies and innovative sonic landscapes. His tracks began to appear on compilations assembled by some of the genre’s giants, including Corsten’s Countdown, Tiesto’s Club Life, Above & Beyond’s Trance Around The World, and Armin Van Buuren’s A State of Trance. A particularly exciting opportunity presented itself in May of 2011, when Audien had the opportunity to open for Van Buuren at New York’s Roseland Ballroom. In just 3 years, Audien had gone from idolizing Van Buuren to sharing a stage with him.
As he continued to release tracks into 2012, his music has evolved to include elements of Progressive House. Audien released his highly acclaimed song "Eventide" on Anjunabeats in August of 2012. Audien’s relationship with Above & Beyond only blossomed from there and in November, A&B premiered Audien’s track "Wayfarer" as the first ever song played on their new radio show, Above & Beyond Group Therapy. Listen to his track "Sup" below.
