Started after a drunken rendition of "I am Woman," at a karoke bar, The Dan Band, fronted by actor/comedian Dan Finnerty, has garnered nation wide attention and critical acclaim. Although the premise may seem silly, the product is brilliant; Entertainment Weekly agrees, having named them one of the "hottest tickets in town," in Los Angeles. In 2005 the released their debut album, The Dan Band Live, on which they knocked it out of the park with thier rendition of Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart." All songs covered by the band are female pop classics, and each rendition is even better than the last.
The band has performed on many televsion shows such as Ellen, the Tonight Show, and Jimmy Kimmel Live, as well as the infamous films, The Hangover, Old School, and The Terminal. Tonight, at 8pm, you can catch them live at Stage 48. Be sure to arrive early, however, as the band will be holding an "Allan" lookalike contest in lieu with their "Hangover" association.
