Oktoberfest 2013: Drink Beer with the Best of them at Andaz Wall Street's Beirgarten
Have the Oktoberfest experience right here in NYC--no passport required.

Oktoberfest is a 200 year old German festival which, historically, celebrates the wedding between a regional prince and princess.  Today, however, it is the world's biggest fair, lasting over two weeks from the end of September to the beginning of October.  Millions of visitors from all over the globe head to Munich to drink the local beer, feast on the sausages and pretzels, and meet new people.

No tickets to Munich?  No problem.  The hotel Andaz Wall Street is hosting a local Oktoberfest celebration in its Beirgarten from September 20th to October 5th.  Authentic German specialties such as bratwurst, sauerkraut and potato salad will be prepared on Thursdays and Fridays by an on-site chef.  To add to the atmosphere, the staff will wear traditional German garb.  If you decide to rock a dirndl dress or lederhosen, you will get a free stein (beer glass).  A stein-holding contest will take place each Thursday through Saturday--winners get a $100 gift certificate dinner for two at Andaz's restuarant Wall and Water.  If you've never done a stein holding contest before, you can get the general idea here.

DJ Maui Babe from Berlin will be mixing American and German party tunes for an authentic Oktoberfest vibe on September 20th and 27th.  More live entertainment will be provided; details TBA.
