On Thursday, Nov. 14, Gary Clark Jr. brought his addictive, melodic, Texas Soul sound to Harlem at the famous Apollo Theater. Performing at the historic Apollo Theater is a great achievement for any musician, and to celebrate, there was an amazing after-party thrown at the Red Rooster, a perfect venue for the soul man’s smooth, classic sound.
Hosted by the Legendary Damon, one of the most notable figures in the NYC nightlife scene, the crowd was very chic and sexy. At the same time, there were a nice variety of people coming from different backgrounds, which the Red Rooster has become known for. Providing the soundtrack for the night was DJ D-Nice, one of the best DJ’s in NYC and a favorite among celebs to rock their parties.
D-Nice, along with special guest DJ, Beverly Bond, had the crowd moving from the very beginning. D-Nice and Beverly took turns spinning throwback hits from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, mixing in each new track seamlessly, leaving the crowd in anticipation for another classic record with each transition. The bar made sure they did their part, pouring tasty and strong cocktails that had the crowd in the right mood to let loose and party. Ladies danced the night away with their friends and the crowd was buzzing. Gary Clark Jr. along with his pals from Warner Bros. Records could be seen laughing and chopping it up, enjoying every minute of the night.
It was an amazing night, perfect for a Gary Clark Jr. event. There were great people, amazing music with a soulful, grown and sexy vibe, in a great venue with beautiful and good spirited people. Hopefully you won’t miss out on the next Gary Clark Jr. event at Terminal 5 on Nov. 16th.
