The Queen of Bartending

The Speed Rack 2012-2013 National Tour makes its second stop in the City that Never Sleeps as the best female bartenders in New York battle for the title of Miss Speed Rack NYC.Today, December 10th from 3 p.m. to 12 a.m. at Santos Party House. Judged by industry heavy weights, Dale Degrofdf (King Cocktail), Steve Olson (Winegeek), Julie Reiner (Clover Club and Flatiron Lounge) and Aisha Sharpe, watch NYCs lady bartending best duke it out for the title of Miss Speed Rack NYC.

Haven't heard of Speed Rack? Founded by Ivy Mix, bartender at Clover Club and Lynette Marrero, President of the New York Chapter of Lupec - Ladies United for the Preservation of Endangered Cocktail, Speed Rack stages competitions in which female bartenders compete against one another and a clocked time to make precise, tasty, beautifully presented cocktails. All of the proceeds benefit breast-cancer related charities.

Ski Chalet at Haven Rooftop

Last night, The Sanctuary Hotel's Haven Rooftop debuted its new winter Ski Chalet. Instead of hitting the slopes in Vail and Aspen, stay put in NYC for a great (and less expensive) alternative. Waitresses donned sexy ski bunny outfits while serving Russian Standard Vodka on a shot ski. Other winter-themed cocktails were served, such as the Ultimate Irish Coffee and Candy Cane Martini. The rooftop was decked out with winter-worthy decor, complete with snow but without the chill. Haven Rooftop's Snowed In Thursday party will debut tonight, with top DJs spinning nightly Wed-Sat nights. Get the snowy reprieve from city life without the chasing it with the flu.

Talking Heads: The Vent Haven Portraits

Photographer Matthew Rolston will be debuting his new book, Talking Heads: The Vent Haven Portraits at Art Basel Miami. The launch party is sponsored by Hendrick's Gin at Fontainebleau on Friday December 7th from 7-9 pm.

The event will feature large-scale prints from the book and there will also be books available for purchase and Rolston will be on hand to sign copies. Hendrick's Gin will be serving cocktails inspired by the images along with tasty hors d'oeuvres.

Santlov Art Exhibit

Santlov, a Miami-based photographer and graphic artist, will be display his work at the brand new South Beach hotel, Gale Hotel on December 6th, the second day of Art Basel. Santlov has blown up on Instagram, with over 277,000 followers, and now he has this amazing opportunity to display his art in Miami. The event will take place at 7:30pm with a private cocktail reception in the Regent Bar, with Don Julio 1942 and Johnnie Walker Blue Label serving as the sponsors. After the reception, the doors will open to the public, with a personal tour of his underground gallery. Santlov will also announce the opening of Miami's new weekly party, BeachKred. Musical sensations Santigold, DJ Ruckus, Ross One, and Trouble Andrew will join Santlov in hosting this great event.

Tyler Sherritt To Headline Electric Beach

It's been a whirlwind couple of months for Tyler Sherrit, a legit triple threat in the DJ world. He's opened for Eric Prydz at Roseland Ballroom and has played at NYC hotspots like Pink Elephant and Griffen. Just recently, Sherrit announced he is confirmed to open for Armin van Buuren at Joonbug's annual NYE party at Pier 36! New Yorkers can catch him early this Saturday, December 8 at Santos Party House's weekly electronic party, Electric Beach!

Aamanns-Copenhagen Displays Danish Artwork

Recently opened Danish restaurant, Aamanns-Copenhagen, signed a deal with prominent Copenhagen-based Galleri Oxholm in order to exhibit fine works of Danish artists throughout the year. The stunning artwork of Peter Max-Jakobsen was the first to be displayed at the restaurant and next Thursday, December 6th, from 5-7pm, the restaurant will host a Champagne Reception for the famed artist.

Movember Comes to an End

After a successful Movember launch at Frankford Hall at the beginning of the month, the venue is wrapping up the month of moustaches with an epic closing gala tonight. The event, which will take place from 6pm-1am, will not only be full of food 'n' drink specials, but will also be giving out prizes!
