This, Saturday, March 8, the gypsies are coming to Soho to play. Gypsy House is open the delightfully dark night promises to be one of mysterious, exciting adventures. With absinthe behind the bar and Balkan electronica on the stereo, this is going to be a truly unique party.
Bulgarian DJ Joro-Boro has performed with Bassnectar and Eugene Hutz (of Gogol Bordello fame), and he delivers a modern take on world music. There may also be burlesque dancers and guest DJs making an appearance.
It has been over a decade since Mr. Christopher "NOTORIOUS BIG" Wallace has been gone - but his legacy lives on and on. DJ Short Kutz and Big Ben will be spinning old school Hip Hop from the late 80's and 90's and Biggie Classics. But wait - there's more ! Jamal "Gravy" Woodlard from the NOTORIOUS Movie will be performing some of the late rappers tracks - and the Dyanmic Rockers will be bboying around Brunch.

This Mardi Gras, the Fifth Annual Two Boots Mardi Gras Ball is the biggest, craziest party in town. Cyndi Lauper and ?uestlove have been crowned King and Queen, and their reign promises to be spectacular. Stiltwalkers, body painting, hatmaking, and at least five live performers, including the all-female accordion orchestra Main Squeeze Orchestra and the Grammy-nominated modern Cajun band The Lost Bayou Ramblers, this is the closest you’ll get to a real Mardi Gras in New York City. Tickets are $35 for one or $60 for two, and all proceeds go to the Lower Eastside Girls Club. Prepare for great cocktails, great music, and a wild spectacle you’ll be talking about for weeks.

Gaze in awe at the talented A Different Spin fire spinners brightening up the plaza and savor the night with their glowing, lively performance. Take it down to a cooler notch with Brilliant Ice Sculptures’ Don Chapelle, getting an exclusive look at him in action carving his gorgeous masterpieces right before your eyes. This is a show you certainly do not want to miss. Family-friendly crafts and activities will include “ice bowling,” SVB’s sand art and Next Step Living Inc.’s “recycled lava lamp craft.”
Dressed in their very best, made their way to Brookfield Place on Tuesday evening to celebrate with Altaneve Prosecco, as they hosted a black tie affair-- complete with delightful drinks and ice skating. Brookfield Place is still in the midst of heavy construction, and the bulk of the building will only open as of Spring 2015. On the night of the event, one could walk through gaping expanses of marble and glass and without seeing another person. The quiet corner of Manhattan and early darkness of winter evening completed the feeling that one was creeping illicitly through the halls of a luxurious office building, closed up for the night.
